SOLAR CHERNOBYL
PROJECT

The 1st Solar Power Plant in the Chernobyl Zone

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

SOLAR CHERNOBYL is a Joint Project of the Consortium of companies RODINA – ENERPARC AG. The goal of the project is the implementation of renewable energy projects in the territories affected by the Chernobyl disaster.

The project SOLAR CHERNOBYL is the project of RODINA – ENERPARC AG corporate social responsibility. We believe that inhabitant due to the nuclear disaster Chernobyl Zone could and must be utilized for the development of Green Energy Projects. And we shell bring back for the benefit of humanity territories affected by humans’ irresponsible activities. Download project presentation

History of the project
Solar Chernobyl

2013

The idea of the Project

The Solar Consortium
RODINA – ENERPARC AG was founded. Development of a strategy for the construction of Solar Power Plant in the territories affected by the Chernobyl catastrophe.

2015

Beginning of cooperation with Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant

The MOU on the project development and construction of the Solar Power Plant signed on July 25, 2015 between Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and Consortium of RODINA – ENERPARC AG. Solar Chernobyl LLC is registered as SPV for the Project. The work on the search and selection of a suitable site for the location of the future Solar Power Plant was started.

2016

Preparation of the Investment Object

Development of feasibility study of the project, legal and financial scheme for project implementation. Beginning and passing of conciliation procedures for land allocation and organization of grid connection.

2017

Construction of Solar Power Plant

A corresponding lease agreement for the location of the solar power plant has been concluded between the Consortium
RODINA – ENERPARC AG and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. In October 2017 an installation of technological equipment of SPP was started.

2018

Completion and Commissioning of
SPP SOLAR CHERNOBYL

In Q1 2018 the solar power plant was put into operation, and on 12 June 2018 Solar Chernobyl obtained feed-in tariff. Since 1 July 2018 for the first time in the last 18 years, the first kilowatts from Chernobyl began to feed the grid of the United Energy System of Ukraine, but this time these kilowatts were generated by solar power plant and implemented under the “green tariff” policy.

DEVELOPERS OF THE PROJECT

The Solar Consortium RODINA – ENERPARC AG was founded in 2013.

Since the date of its formation the Consortium has executed solar energy projects with a total capacity >200 MWp in the markets of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Turkey, of which 100 MWp- over the past 9 months.

In the summer of 2016 The consortium RODINA – ENERPARC AG gained its first experience on construction of the Solar Power Plants in the territories affected by the Chernobyl disaster: Bragin Solar Power Plant
(the Republic of Belarus) was executed with a capacity of 4.2 MWp at the site of decontamination of equipment that took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.

RODINA was founded in 2013 and specializes in renewable energy projects in the markets of Eastern Europe and the Countries of the former USSR, Central Asia and the Middle East.

ENERPARC AG is a European leader in the design, construction and operation of solar power plants. Since 2009, the company has designed and built more than 1.8 GW of solar generation projects in Europe, Asia and the USA, 1.1 GW of which are the property of ENERPARC AG.
